How We Started

Having recently celebrated our 8th year, Fairygodmother Foundation is proud to announce that we have been successful in granting hundreds of wishes and touched thousands of lives in all 50 states to terminall ill adults. Founded in 1998, we had a modest but meaningful start, granting only 19 wishes in that first year. We have grown immensely since our founding due to the enthusiastic response from the numerous individuals, corporations, organizations and foundations that endorse and support our mission.

Our wish recipients range from a young man in his twenties, battling leukemia, to a mid-forties mother of three fighting breast cancer. We create the opportunity for our wish recipients and their loved ones to make lasting memories. However, we are not alone in our mission. We have developed strong relationships with many hotels, restaurants, and theme parks, which give freely of their goods and services to assist us in the wish granting process. Over the years, corporations have been generous with cash donations to support our fundraising events, and our individual donors have never failed us. All of these wonderful individuals, corporations, and organizations have done their part by sharing the Fairygodmother story with friends and colleagues.
